WORC.Community Content, Copyright & Data Use Terms
Content, Copyright & Data Use Terms
Terms applying to original WORC.Community content, curated datasets, question banks, tools, directories, software and other resources.
1. WORC intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, original content created, compiled or developed by WORC.Community is owned by or licensed to WORC.Community. This may include original written and editorial material; WORC-Flow™ Quest content and question banks; WORC.Community quizzes and original questions; WORC Factoids and their original presentation, classification and compilation; curated technology, company, researcher, funding, jobs and other datasets; classifications, categories, taxonomies and database structures; original graphics and page designs; software, scripts and interfaces; and WORC Intelligence datasets, reports and analysis.
Such material may be protected by copyright, database rights and/or other applicable intellectual property rights.
2. Third-party material
WORC.Community contains information and materials relating to third parties, including company names, trade marks, logos, product information, publications, research information, images and links. Rights in those materials remain with their respective owners.
Their inclusion does not transfer ownership to WORC.Community or imply endorsement, sponsorship or affiliation unless expressly stated.
3. Permitted use
WORC.Community is intended to support the Organoid, Organ-on-a-Chip, Microphysiological Systems (MPS), New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and advanced cell-model communities. You may access and use the website for legitimate personal, educational, scientific and professional purposes.
Reasonable quotation or limited use may also be permitted where allowed by applicable law. Appropriate acknowledgement of WORC.Community is appreciated when WORC material is referenced in publications, presentations or professional material.
4. Copying and redistribution
Unless WORC.Community has given prior written permission, you may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense or commercially exploit substantial portions of WORC original content or protected databases.
In particular, you may not copy or reconstruct substantial portions of WORC question banks, curated datasets, directories or proprietary compilations for another website, database, application, AI product, commercial service or competing resource.
5. Automated scraping and bulk extraction
Except where expressly authorised by WORC.Community or where the activity cannot lawfully be restricted, automated access intended to extract, harvest, reproduce or reconstruct WORC content or databases is prohibited.
- Bulk extraction or systematic copying of records
- Reconstruction of WORC databases or question banks
- Automated republication of WORC content
- Creation of substantially equivalent competing datasets from WORC resources
- Circumvention of technical measures intended to control access
Repeated or systematic extraction of smaller portions may also be prohibited where, taken together, it amounts to inappropriate exploitation of the resource or infringes applicable rights.
6. AI and machine-learning use
Ordinary public access does not grant permission to use protected WORC datasets, question banks or substantial collections of WORC original content to train, fine-tune, benchmark or populate commercial artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems.
Organisations wishing to use WORC resources for these purposes should contact WORC.Community to discuss permission or licensing. This provision does not restrict uses that cannot lawfully be restricted.
7. API and technical access
Access to WORC APIs, protected endpoints or other technical services is provided solely for authorised operation of WORC services unless expressly agreed otherwise.
- Do not bypass access controls or circumvent rate limits.
- Do not attempt to discover or exploit private endpoints.
- Do not obtain protected source data through automated enumeration.
- Do not interfere with the operation or security of WORC services.
- Do not use technical access to reconstruct protected WORC datasets.
WORC.Community may restrict or suspend access where activity threatens security, availability, intellectual property rights or normal operation of the service.
8. Factual information and source material
Individual facts may not themselves be owned by WORC.Community merely because they appear on the website. However, WORC's original wording, selection, arrangement, categorisation and presentation of information, and qualifying investment in databases, may receive separate legal protection.
Where information originates from external sources, users should consult and cite the original source where appropriate.
9. Accuracy and scientific information
WORC.Community resources are provided for information, education and research navigation. Scientific information, company offerings, jobs, funding opportunities, product availability, promotions and research findings may change. Users should verify important information with the relevant original source before relying upon it.
WORC.Community content does not constitute medical, regulatory, legal or investment advice.
10. Licensing and commercial use
WORC.Community welcomes legitimate collaborations and reuse requests. Permission may be available for commercial data licensing, API access, research collaborations, educational use, publication or media use, integration into third-party platforms and other agreed uses.
Please contact WORC.Community before undertaking substantial or commercial reuse.
11. Enforcement
WORC.Community reserves all rights in its protected content and databases. Where we reasonably believe content or data is being copied, scraped, extracted, republished or commercially exploited without permission, we may take appropriate technical or legal measures, including restricting access and seeking removal of infringing material.
12. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as WORC.Community services, datasets and technologies develop. The version displayed on WORC.Community at the relevant time will be the current version.
