Professor Steven Ray Haakon Wilson, University of Oslo. Steven is also chairing a session at WORD+2025.
'I am a professor of analytical chemistry, specializing in chromatography and mass spectrometry (LC-MS). My current focus is on using LC-MS to study organoids, i.e. lab-grown organs. I am a group leader in a Center of Excellence on this topic (Hybrid Technology Hub). I also have several collaborations with hospitals, related to diagnostics (proteomics, metabolomics). I am also group leader in the Norwegian Network of Advanced Proteomics Infrastructure (NAPI).
I am currently engaged in several innovation projects, towards the commercialization of technology for chemical analysis. Collaborators include SINTEF, the Department of Pharmacy, and Copenhagen University. We are supported by Inven2, UiO Growth house, SPARK Norway, Novo Nordisk, and the Norwegian Research Council.
I teach several subjects, including analytical chemistry and biochemistry, and have won several teaching awards. In addition, I am an active science communicator, with many contributions through television, newspapers, and radio/podcasts.
