👩🔬 Intro Ece Ergir, PhD
Hello! I'm a PhD-level Tissue Engineer, science communicator, and nowadays an aspiring analyst developer.
During my PhD studies conducted between Vienna and Brno, I was interested in human cardiac microtissues ("mini-hearts") and how we can use them for modelling human biology. Experienced in pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), 2D/3D cell culture, organoids, in vitro cardiovascular biology and organ-on-a-chip applications. Passionate about alternatives to animal models following the 3R principle, and science communication to non-experts and general audience.
🌐 As volunteer at WORC.Community I:
- Share posts, jobs, open-access publications, and reviews
- Spot engaging and trending topics in 3D biology
- Help boost visibility and reach for the community
💡 After transitioning from cellular workflows to digital ones, I now take on new challenges as an analyst developer in the fintech industry, while keeping close ties with the scientific community and the exciting advancements in organoids and NAMs.
☕🍺 🎵 Beyond work, you may find me engaged in arts and music - and I believe coffee and beer are more than just drinks, they’re tools to bring science and people together!
